There are quite a few players out there, but only some of them make it to the top. You can’t win every game with any one player, but often in Madden, you’ll find yourself in need of that one guy, the one who knows how to get open against triple coverage and always gets away from double teams. Not everyone has these guys on their roster. If they do, then probably won’t let them go for less than three 1st round draft picks (if anyone wants them). What I’m trying to say is, you need to know these players before your opponents do…
(Note: This list is based purely upon who I think will be good this year…)
1. Andre Johnson – Houston Texans
This guy is pure class. He’s one of the most up-and-coming receivers in America, and you can’t go wrong with him on your team. Last year he made 118 receptions for 1,575 yards and 7 TDs (1 rushing). Now that Schaub has finally woken up, this guy could be really dominant in Madden NFL 11. His key skills are Awareness (92), Catch in Traffic (95), Spectacular Catch (87), Route Running (94), Release (93), and Run after Catch (90). When paired with Matt Schaub at QB he becomes almost unstoppable.
2. Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona Cardinals
Larry Fitzgerald tore it up last year; 96 receptions for 1448 yards and 12 TDs (1 rushing). This may end up being the best year of his career. With Boldin gone he is now officially Kurt Warner’s favorite target, and this will allow him to stretch the defense like no other receiver in Madden NFL 11.
3. Andre Rison – Atlanta Falcons
He used to dominate Madden with the Packers back in the day, so why not take advantage of who he has become? He made 79 receptions for 1167 yards and 8 TDs last season, but all signs point to an even bigger season come Madden NFL 11. Rison brings 92 Awareness, 94 Spectacular Catch, 90 Release, 93 Route Running, and 97 Stamina to your team. Normally you can expect at least one touchdown by halftime when he’s on the field.
4. Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons
You can’t go wrong with drafting this guy, you just need to know when to use him correctly… The Top-rated rookie comes in at 85 Overall, which means he’ll be outplaying your opponents well before his second season! He has potential for greatness and will only get better as he gains more experience. To put it simply, if you can play with him right now then there’s no excuse for passing upon him. His key attributes are Awareness (83), Catch in Traffic (88), Spectacular Catch (86), Release (83), Route Running (87), and Acceleration (90). If not for Andre Johnson’s 90 Run after Catch this kid would be my number 1 pick.
Conclusion: There are a lot of great players in the NFL, but only a select few can be considered elite. These four players should be on your radar before you start playing Madden NFL 11 this year. With their skills and abilities, they can help you win games and dominate your opponents. Make sure to use them correctly and put them in the right positions on the field, and you’ll be well on your way to victory.
